BoConcept streamlines multilingual catalog production.

BoConcept is an international Danish retail furniture chain. The brand is present in over 58 countries all over the world, with more than 295 sales units. BoConcept’s marketing department is responsible for the production of marketing material – such as catalogs, brochures or posters – in multiple languages. This proves to be immensely complex, especially if time is short.

The challenge

Every year, BoConcept publishes a catalog of 164 pages, in 34(!) languages. The production of this catalog calls on a worldwide team of colleagues, subcontractors and translators. Previously, making this yearly catalog would go hand in hand with large amounts of emails and back-and-forth correction cycles. To sum things up: a time-consuming process.

BoConcept went to look for a solution that would be able to restrict certain changes such as text size or graphic style. A consistent brand is what we want. And a strict workflow would definitely be a plus, it sounded.

This online (Adobe InDesign) editor just is the best you can find on the market. And extremely agile to implement. In less than 3 weeks, our templates and workflow were configured and the first brochures went in production.

How did 2imagine solve this problem?

First of all, we implemented our online Adobe InDesign editor. This even allowed inexperienced Adobe InDesign users to easily edit the catalog online, from any browser. Bonus from the editor: users can make annotations, ensuring streamlined communications, in one place. In addition, 2imagine implemented a flexible workflow: all users can access and read the document but not everyone can edit it. This made sure the catalog is consistent, in all languages.

Bonus: we integrated the EasyCatalog database plugin. This plugin handles updating and building catalog versions for BoConcept.
